Islamabad: Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Omar Ayub Khan presided over a meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) on foreign-funded projects in Islamabad on Monday. The NCC assessed the status of 15 Roads and Transportation projects, as well as five current Finance and Revenue projects.

 

The five projects in the Finance and Revenue sector will be completed at a cost of Rs 1.3 billion in collaboration with the World Bank (WB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), according to the meeting. The minister ordered all parties to work together to eliminate obstacles and accelerate implementation.

 

Omar Ayub urged the authorities in charge to complete the ongoing projects on schedule. He also directed officials to expedite the completion of the Gwadar Expressway and the Indus Highway Sindh.

 

Muhammad Yaqoob Sheikh, Parliamentary Secretary, Secretary EAD, and representatives of relevant stakeholders, including officials from Communications, NHA, Finance Division, FBR, SBP, NAPHDA, and provincial governments, attended the meeting.

 

Gwadar East Bay Expressway

The Gwadar East Bay Expressway is a municipal expressway being built in Gwadar, Balochistan, Pakistan. The six-lane expressway was supposed to be finished by 2018, but it has now been pushed back to October 2020. It will link Gwadar Port with the Makran Coastal Highway.
