Islamabad: Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications Syed Amin ul Haque and Republic of Korea Ambassador Suh Sangpyo inaugurated Islamabad Technology park on Wednesday.


Suh Sangpyo said on the occasion that IT Park constructions are important initiatives of the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF). Korea inked a framework agreement with Pakistan in 2019 to offer $500 million in EDCF loans to Pakistan for infrastructure development.


Today, we are witnessing the actual results of EDCF projects. Islamabad IT Park will be a landmark in strong ties between Korea and Pakistan.

Korea is happy to assist Pakistan’s own IT capacity reinforcement in the long term, such as capacity building, infrastructure development, and technology development. Suh Sangpyo mentioned that the Islamabad IT Park will create a business-friendly atmosphere for Pakistani small and medium IT enterprises.


Syed Amin ul Haque thanked the Korean government and the Korean embassy in Islamabad for their unwavering assistance in the development of the IT Park. Syed Amin ul Haque further added that the state-of-the-art IT Park project would be completed in 30 months and that the Park’s inauguration is another significant step toward Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of a Digital Pakistan.
